A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to invalid addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from colleagues or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some moment you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be delivered to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

In case you have a shared web hosting plan with our company and you would like to activate the catch-all option for a certain email mailbox that you have in your hosting account, it will take literally only one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in your account. You can select one address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature right away, so all messages sent to misspelled email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you have enabled email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be configured with a couple of clicks of the mouse in case you have a semi-dedicated hosting plan with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed via our in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses using any domain registered here. To activate the catch-all functionality for a certain mailbox, you’ll have to click the icon with the exact same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Deactivating the feature can be achieved in the same manner and will not take more than one click either. If the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a particular domain, you’ll receive a warning notice. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never edit or deactivate any feature automatically.
